The NLACRC DeafPlus Program is dedicated to supporting Deaf, Hard of Hearing, DeafBlind, and DeafPlus individuals served by promoting communication access, community connection, and meaningful participation in all aspects of life. We recognize that effective communication is essential to self-determination, informed decision making, and successful person-centered planning.
Our Mission To empower DeafPlus individuals served and their families through accessible services, education, advocacy, and community partnerships. By working collaboratively with service providers and the Deaf community, we strive to create opportunities that support independence, inclusion, personal growth, and a high quality of life while honoring each person’s unique strengths, preferences, and communication needs.
ASL Classes
We’re excited to offer free ASL classes!
Upcoming semesters:
- August 31 to October 22
- October 26 to December 17
- January 4 to February 25
Before you scan the QR code or click a link, please note that there are two different options:
- “Register Here for FREE ASL Classes: August 31 to October 22” is for people who want to join the August semester.
- “Join the ASL Class Waiting List” is for people interested in the October or January semesters.
A quick reminder:
- Beginner 1 is Part 1 of the ASL series and is designed for people who are new to ASL.
- Beginner 2 is Part 2 and is for people who have already completed Beginner 1 or have similar ASL experience.
We also still have a limited number of licenses available for our Self-Paced ASL Course, so be sure to sign up if you’re interested.
