Juan Hernandez’s story is a testament to the power of dedication, tenacity, and persistence. Juan initially faced educational challenges but quickly transitioned to mainstream education once his intellectual abilities were recognized. Despite academic ease, he encountered social difficulties during middle and high school.

With a passion for computers, Juan pursued web development and worked as a freelance IT professional. However, the demands of freelancing led him to seek more stability. In 2015, he was hired by the North Los Angeles County Regional Center (NLACRC), which provided him with financial independence and a solid foundation for his future.

By 2025, Juan’s dedication and leadership were recognized as he was elected President of the NLACRC Board of Trustees, allowing him to advocate for individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities.

Juan’s journey exemplifies how success can be found in both professional achievements and personal fulfillment.
