Transfer Process

People served by regional centers get services from the regional center in the area where they live. This is called the regional center’s catchment area. This means the cities or valleys a regional center serves. There are 21 regional centers in California. You can find your regional center based on your address اینجا.

North Los Angeles County Regional Center (“NLACRC”) serves people in the San Fernando, Antelope, and Santa Clarita Valleys. NLACRC has a process to help people who move. This is called the Transfer Process. This process is for consumers with an active regional center case who move into NLACRC’s area and who move out of the NLACRC’s area. This is called:

  • Transfer-In: Active consumers who move into NLACRC’s area
  • Transfer-Out: Active consumers who move out of NLACRC’s area

Please let your Service Coordinator if you move or plan to move. You should ask to start the transfer process based on your new location. You need to tell your Service Coordinator if the move is temporary or permanent. They will need to ask you questions about your move. This is so they can get information they need for the process.

Regional centers make effort to meet a timeline of up to 30 days to accept transfers. This timeline is to make sure there is an easy transfer. NLACRC sends a letter to a consumer/family to let them know when NLACRC has completed their transfer process.
