- DDS requires caseloads to have a 1:40 ratio and consist of all age groups: school age, transition, and adult
- Eligibility to ESC is determined by DDS and purchase of service expenditure data
ESC provides specialized and culturally competent case management through the following:
- Provide underserved consumers and families a thorough understanding of the regional center system
- Identify and eliminate barriers impeding access to services
- Seek to understand the family dynamic of the consumer and circle of support through cultural competency and empathy
- Provide advocacy and empowerment when accessing supports
- Maintain frequent contact and check-ins with families while in ESC
- ESC services are time limited and most families participate in the program between 12-18 months
- Goal is to increase a consumer and family’s case management collaboration and assist participants in accessing valuable generic supports, regional center services, and increase their purchase of service funding
