Tinutugunan ng bulletin na ito ang paksa ng pagtukoy at pag-iwas sa pulmonya. Ang pulmonya ay isang impeksyon sa mga baga na mas madalas na nakakaapekto sa populasyon sa panahong ito ng taon. Ang ilang mga taong may kapansanan sa intelektwal at pag-unlad (IDD) ay nasa mas mataas na panganib na magkaroon ng pulmonya na maaaring maging banta sa buhay kung hindi ginagamot. Ang pagkilala sa mga palatandaan at sintomas ay maaaring makatulong na maiwasan ang mga komplikasyon sa kalusugan, ospital, at kamatayan.
