Younger children will be enrolled later.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 601\/602 Pediatric Autism Study is looking at a potential new (investigational) medication (\u201cstudy drug\u201d) for irritability in autistic children and teenagers. It is hoped that the study drug can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Help restore the balance of chemicals in the brain that are important for regulating mood<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduce the severity of irritability and behaviors linked with it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The study will look at 2 different doses of the study drug and compare them with a placebo. Your child will be randomly assigned to receive the study drug or a placebo. The study drug comes as<br>a capsule and will be taken once a day.<br><br>This study will last for about 2 months and include up to 9 study center visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a
